Don’t ignore heartburn.
Heartburn may be the first sign of a more serious problem,
gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), or even cancer.
If you have heartburn, swallowing problems, upper abdominal discomfort, indigestion
or an acid taste more than twice a week, you may have
reflux disease. The term “reflux” refers
to the upward flow of stomach acid into the esophagus
causing one or more of these symptoms. Reflux disease
cannot be effectively treated by antacids or over-the-counter
medications. Dr. Winston can accurately diagnose reflux
disease and treat your symptoms before they lead to
more serious problems. Some of the more common conditions
he treats include:
- Heartburn and acid reflux
- Swallowing problems
- Esophageal disease and abnormalities
If you are experiencing ANY of the reflux symptoms
described above, are
having swallowing difficulties, have recently become
anemic OR are having unexplained weight loss,
you should be evaluated immediately. |
